About Jaron

The person matters more than the performance.

I’m Jaron Dabney, an author, educator, coach, and former collegiate athlete. My work brings me alongside people who are learning, competing, leading, and trying to find their way.

I believe people deserve to be seen beyond what they produce. The athlete is more than a score. The student is more than a grade. And you are more than the roles you carry.

Greater Starts Within brings together the convictions that shape my work: identity, environment, discipline, resilience, and faith. My hope is that these words help you make room for a part of yourself that pressure may have pushed aside.

Five pillars. A place to begin.

These are not five steps to a perfect life. They are places to return to when pressure makes it hard to hear yourself.

Identity

You are more than the role you fill or the approval you receive. Make room for the person you are when there is nothing to prove.

Environment

Notice where you feel free to be honest, and where you feel you must disappear to belong. The people and places around you matter.

Discipline

Keep one small promise to yourself. Then keep another. Discipline can be a way of caring for your future, not punishing your present.

Resilience

Some things hurt without teaching a neat lesson. You can acknowledge the loss, accept support, and still decide what comes next.

Faith

My faith in God is part of this message. Faith does not require pretending that life is easy. It gives me a place to bring what I cannot carry alone.
